Malpaso Dance Company brings the flair of Havana to the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square for two free performances on Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. The weekend of performances, made possible by the Cleveland Foundation’s Creative Fusion: Cuba Edition, will launch DANCECleveland’s 62nd season of world-class dance in northeast Ohio.

Malpaso Dance Company, co-founded in Havana in 2012 by artistic director, choreographer and dancer Osnel Delgado, collaborates with top international choreographers while nurturing new voices in the art form. The free Ohio Theatre program by Malpaso, which made its Cleveland debut in 2016, includes three remarkable works including Under Fire choreographed by the clever and innovative Trey McIntyre; Ocaso, a powerful duet choreographed by Osnel Delgado; and Indomitable Waltz co-commissioned by DANCECleveland and the Cleveland Foundation and choreographed by acclaimed Canadian choreographer Aszure Barton.
