Socks for Seniors is an annual community service project, which organizes collecting new socks to be distributed to elderly in local area nursing homes around the holidays.
The program began with Make A Difference Day Saturday October 25 – The Official Kick-off of the 2014 Socks For Seniors Campaign and runs thru Christmas.
They are looking for local area coordinators near Akron to help with collecting socks this year.
They are asking for people to host a Sock Drive. All the socks stay in the local Akron area! If you have a nursing home, assisted living center or other senior community in mind for distribution, that’s great. If not, they will help connect you with a local senior community for distributing the socks at the end of the sock drive.
