St. Michael School is a nurturing community, empowering children in their faith journey and promoting academic excellence and life-long service inspired by their Catholic faith. The school is a partnership between the parishes of St. Michael in Independence and St. Basil the Great in Brecksville. The main campus is located on Chestnut Road in Independence and houses second through eighth grade. The St. Basil campus, also called the Early Education Center, is located on Brecksville Road in Brecksville. It is home to the three- and four-year-old preschool program, half-day junior kindergarten, full-day kindergarten, and first grade.
The school serves students not only from Independence and Brecksville, but 17 other surrounding communities, as well.
Parents interested in a Catholic elementary education for their children in preschool, jr. kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade are welcome to attend an Information Night on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the St. Basil Parish Education Center, 8700 Brecksville Road. On Sunday, Jan. 22 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, the main campus of St. Michael School, 6906 Chestnut Road, will hold an Open House.
