Maple Sugaring Weekends at Lake Metroparks Farmpark
March 21-22, 9 a.m-5 p.m.
Visitors take a wagon ride to the Woodland Center to witness the entire maple process. Families can sample maple syrup and candy, make a maple craft, help gather sap and learn how to make maple syrup
Sap’s-A-Risin’! at Geauga Park District Swine Creek Reservation, March 22, 12-4 p.m.
Guests are always excited for this free experience. Enjoy historical interactions with costumed interpreters, gather sap during a stroll through the sugar bush, see and learn how sap is boiled in the sugarhouse’s evaporator, enjoy a sample taste of syrup, then warm up in the lodge with live music, woodcarving demonstrations, maple stirs and maple popcorn.
Maple Sugar Festival at Hale Farm & Village
March 21-22, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Enjoy a pancake breakfast and experience the process of maple sugaring. Crafts and trades, including glassblowing, blacksmithing, and spinning and weaving, are also demonstrated throughout the day.
History of Maple Sugaring at Rocky River Reservation
March 21-22 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
On weekends, visitors can walk through time along the Sugarbush trail. See the sap-collecting methods and maple syrup-making processes used by Native Americans, pioneers and modern sugar farmers.
