Tickets go on sale Jan. 9 for Kent’s 2017 Chocolate Walk, sponsored by Acorn Alley. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at mainstreetkent.org. A maximum of 250 tickets are available for the event.
As a special addition to the event this year, ticketholders will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: an overnight stay at the Daniel D. Smith Guest Quarters located in Acorn Corner (the old Franklin Hotel), a $50 gift card to Laziza, and breakfast for two at Rise & Shine Café. (Winner must be at least 25 years of age to stay in the Daniel D. Smith Guest Quarters; alternate prize for winner under 25 years of age will be a $100 VISA gift card.)
The Chocolate Walk will take place in downtown Kent on Saturday, Feb. 11 from noon-5 p.m. Ticketholders will “check in” at the Destination Kent Visitor Centre to pick up their Chocolate Walk maps, “passes,” and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Then, at their leisure, event-goers will stop at each of the participating businesses to gather a chocolate surprise while shopping, grabbing lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way. All chocolate treats are donated by participating businesses and event proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent.
Participating Chocolate Walk locations include: Baked in the Village Café, Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant, Carnaby Street Style, Downtown Gallery (Kent State University, School of Art Collection and Galleries), Dr. V & G’s Sauce Shack, Gracylane Kent, Grazers, Kent Cheesemonger, Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center, McKay Bricker Framing & Black Squirrel Gifts, Kent Pita Pit, Popped!, Unofficial: Red Letter Days of Kent, Rise and Shine Cafe, Scribbles Coffee Co., Standing Rock Jewelers, Taco Tonto’s, Kent State Fashion School Store, Traveling Spa Girl, Tree City Coffee & Pastry, Troy Grille, and Twisted Meltz.
