At Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL), librarians pay close attention to what’s trending, to what authors are breaking new ground, to which stories are resonating and to what the communities can’t get enough of. This year’s Most Borrowed Books Lists revealed a few notable firsts:
- In print, Children’s titles dominated the lists, underscoring just how much families rely on the library.
- The most borrowed cookbook— a longtime favorite CCPL customer genre—was “authored” by an animated character (thanks, Bluey!)
“To me, this really illustrates how important our library is to families and young readers,” says Wendy Bartlett, CCPL Collection Development and Acquisitions Manager. “We work hard studying reviews, carefully researching publishers’ offerings, and analyzing data to find just the right mix for our customers. And to see that we’ve found books to surprise and delight particularly the children and their grown-ups is really special.”
