The Great Lakes Science Center is offering free admission on eight select days, thanks to a $200,000 grant from the Mandel Supporting Foundation.
The Mandel Free Days will include free general admission for guests of all ages. The first four dates are Sunday, June 23; Monday, July 15; Sunday, August 4; and Sunday, August 18. Dates are subject to change. The remaining dates will be announced later this summer.
“The Mandel Foundation looks to increase community access to prominent institutions like the Great Lakes Science Center,” says Dr. Jehuda Reinharz, President and CEO of the Mandel Foundation. “Our hope is that the Mandel Free Days will allow Northeast Ohio residents to engage in educational experiences that cultivate curiosity and encourage critical thinking.”
“We are extremely grateful for the foundation’s support of eight free admission days,” said Science Center President and CEO Dr. Kirsten Ellenbogen. “This gift demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to providing educational opportunities for all and inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals.”
General admission at the Science Center includes the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, the Polymer Funhouse (for those 7 and younger), special programming, and hundreds of hands-on and interactive science exhibits.
