In September, the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across our nation observe National Library Card Sign-Up Month (NLCSM), a celebration of the many joys and benefits of owning a library card.
Every year the ALA appoints an Honorary Chair to champion NLCSM, and this year’s champion is none other than Snoopy – the world-famous beagle from Charles M. Schulz’s classic comic strip Peanuts.
In honor of Snoopy, Cuyahoga County Public Library is on the hunt for its own official canine champion. They invite you to enter your furry friend in our Library Top Dog Photo Contest this August. Open to Cuyahoga County residents ages 18 and older.
The top five dogs vote-getters (and their owners) will advance to the finalist round which will be held during a special event at the Parma-Snow Branch. The panel of guest judges will select one winner to be the Library’s Top Dog. The winner will be featured on special edition library cards that will be made available throughout the county this fall.
The contest will be held through Wednesday, August 26. Please read the contest details before you enter. For contest rules visit here. To enter to win, please fill out entry form.
