Taking place annually on the first Saturday in May, Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across the U.S. give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops. There’s a lot of great shops around the area holding free comic book events and activities such as Comic and Friends in Mentor, Imaginary World Comics in Cleveland Heights, Comic Heaven in Willoughby, Carol and John’s Comic Books in Cleveland, B & L Comics in Parma, York Comic and Cards in Parma and more!

Free Comic Book Day with artist Eric Dockery at Medina Library
May 7, 1-3 p.m.
Celebrate Free Comic Book Day on May 7 at Brunswick Library with “Meet the Artist: Eric Dockery” in the Brunswick Reference Dept. from 1-3 p.m. Stop by to meet Eric, see his work and create an artist trading card wtih him. Pick up your free comic book while supplies last and stop by the kids and teen areas for more activities and fun.

Free comic books will be available at all CCPL branches thanks to Carol & John’s comics.

Kids can come to our Main Branch and get new, free issues from top comics publishers, including stories about Pokemon, The Legend of Korra, Grumpy Cat, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spongebob Squarepants, Strawberry Shortcake and more. The comics have been donated by Comics & Friends!

Free Comic Book Day at Westlake Porter Public Library
May, 7, while supplies last
The library, in partnership with Carol & John’s Comic Book Shop, will be giving out free comic books, while supplies last. Some editions include Archie #1 FCBD 2016 edition, Avengers #1 FCBD 2016 edition and FCBD 2016 Viz Perfect Square Pokemon Pocket Comic.
