Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge: Ohio students can compete against their classmates for a chance to win prizes

The Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge helps kids learn creativity, problem solving, critical thinking and presentation skills. Students in Ohio can compete against their classmates for a chance to win prizes and be featured in the YEI Finalist showcase. They will compete against other students in their grade range: K-4, 5-8 or 9-12. Classroom winners will receive a $60 gift card per team. Final winners will receive a $180 gift card per team. The deadline for entries is Feb. 20, 2024.

Step up to the plate for this year’s Pitch Challenge by registering your class or group. Download the Pitch Challenge Toolkit and introduce the contest to your students. Begin working through the Toolkit Lessons on problem identification and ideation.

How to Enter: 

  • Students enter in one of three grade levels: K-4, 5-8, 9-12
  • Students compete against their classmates in Round 1
  • Finalist videos will be selected and posted on our website for online public voting in April
  • Winning videos will be chosen by independent judges and public voting
  • Entries will be judged on the CREATIVITY of the idea, business name, and video; the CLARITY of the presentation, the PERSUASIVENESS of the elevator pitch; and the OVERALL QUALITY of the idea, pitch and video
  • NEW: 1 winner per age group will be selected in each of the following categories: Sustainability and Environment, Technology and STEM Innovation, Sports and Recreation, and Social Entrepreneurship and Community Revitalization
  • Complete your video and submit to your teacher before the deadline of February 20, 2024
