Connecting for Kids Expands Programming to Solon

Connecting for Kids, a local nonprofit that provides education and support to families with concerns about their child, will be expanding to the east side in 2018 by offering its popular Music Therapy & More at the Solon Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library. This expansion is made possible through the Callahan Foundation and a partnership with Cuyahoga County Public Library.

“Up until now, we’ve offered programming only on the west side at libraries in Elyria, Lakewood, Middleburg Heights and Westlake,” said Sarah Rintamaki, executive director.
Music Therapy & More is a hands-on family training program for children, ages 0-6 years, who are struggling in an area of development. It is designed to teach families how to use music to improve their child’s motor, communication and social skills, as well as behavior. The program is led by a board certified music therapist from Music Therapy Enrichment Center, Inc. This program is offered free of charge. Because of limited space, all families must register.

Visit connectingforkids.org/music to see upcoming dates and to register. The first program in Solon will be offered on Friday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. and then offered on a monthly basis throughout the school year.
