1.) The Learned Owl – Hudson
It’s easy to spend hours looking through every little nook and cranny of this quaint shop on Hudson’s historic Main Street (pictured above). Cozy up in the beautiful children’s corner and search for the selection of books signed by authors! Browse the website ahead of time for handpicked staff recommendations. 2.) Loganberry Books – Shaker Heights
Before you head inside, don’t miss taking a great photo of the kids in front of the life-size art mural on the side of the building. Children will also love spotting Otis the friendly cat roaming inside the store! Tip: Loganberry has “Stumper Magicians” to help you find long lost beloved books from your childhood to share with your kids.
3.) Fireside Book Shop – Chagrin Falls
For 54 years, Fireside Book Shop has provided a charming spot for bookworms to gather and find a huge selection from classics to new bestsellers. Keep reading alive by snagging some children’s bargain books near the counter. Tip: Bring your gently used children’s books to a trade-in event and discover a new favorite find!
4.) Carol & John’s Comic Shop – Cleveland
Bring your own little super hero to this massive comic book shop! If your child is a seasoned graphic novel fan or prefers alternative types of reading, this store has an action-packed, wholesome illustrated story for all reading tastes. Tip: Let your kids pick out a comic for free on Free Comic Book Day (May).
5.) Appletree Books – Cleveland Heights
This magical bookstore is full of the classics that every parent should read to their children. Snag a picture of your kids on the photo-op worthy staircase to the loft, and afterwards sign up for the adult book club group for some “me” time. Tip: Appletree curates a selection of notecards, calendars, wrapping paper and more that are made by local businesses!
