Many of us have learned from the days of Julia Child, when you unwrap raw poultry, you must immediate take it to the sink for a good wash down–WRONG!

When handling raw chicken or turkey, you absolutely do not need to rinse it first before cooking, that is just a myth. Rinsing poultry only spread bacteria and the chance of salmonella and campylobacter into your sink!

Instead, just take the raw poultry straight from the package into the cooking pan. Then simply clean up any splashes and wash your hands with soap and hot water.
