It’s the most wonderful time of the year and one of the most wonderful places to see some amazing lights with your family is Kennywood.
Kennywood is an amusement park in West Mifflin, Pa. In the summer, you can enjoy their mix of classic rides and seven roller coasters. Kennywood also is one of only 13 trolley parks in the U.S. that remain in operation.
My family enjoyed a night at Kennywood’s Holiday Lights. The park is transformed into a spectacular holiday scene with nearly two million twinkling lights and the tallest tree in the state of Pennsylvania.
During Holiday Lights, visitors can enjoy some of the rides — my favorite was the Kangaroo Connection — and holiday activities, including a magic show and a reading of ‘”Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Every hour, the lights around the lagoon perform a dazzling show — and don’t forget Santa! He is there, along with several of his holiday friends. My youngest daughter wrote her letter to Santa and mailed it off in the giant red North Pole mailbox.
The highlight for my kids was bottle feeding the goats, calfs, pigs and even a llama!
To really get in the spirit of the season, Kennywood’s Holiday Lights is a great way to spend some screen-free time with your family!
