Revolutionary War Reenactment
Come to Fort Laurens, the site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, for their annual Revolutionary War reenactment. Watch a mock skirmish for American Independence with volunteer reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution. Learn about 18 th -century life from a variety of different demonstrations, including music, artillery, cooking, medicine, and discussions with Colonial and British soldier reenactors. Walk the scenic Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail between Zoar and Fort Laurens, Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, while exploring the rich history of the Ohio & Erie Canal. This guided tour highlights the canal’s vital role in the growth of Zoar, a thriving communal village. Archaeology School Day
Students can celebrate National Archaeology Month at Fort Laurens’ Fall School Day! This event is open to public, private, and homeschooled students of all ages. All activities meet Ohio educational standards. Cost is $7 per student. Admission is free for one adult per group, with additional adult tickets priced at $7 each. Registration is required.
