Revolutionary War School Day
Experience history on the front lines and learn about life on the frontier during the American Revolution! Students between fourth and eighth grade will learn more about the Revolutionary War and how early American settlers lived through interactive stations and demonstrations that cover Revolutionary War history, local Ohio history, and more! Come to Fort Laurens, the site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, for their annual Revolutionary War reenactment. Watch a mock skirmish for American Independence with volunteer reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution. Walk the scenic Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail between Zoar and Fort Laurens, Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, while exploring the rich history of the Ohio & Erie Canal. This guided tour highlights the canal’s vital role in the growth of Zoar, a thriving communal village.
