There are tons of books written on parenting and child rearing which by their very nature have to be general. They are about children, not about your child. But, child rearing is specific.

How can you make these general principles of child rearing and child development work for you and your child?

21st Century Parenting: Ask the Experts online, free event on Monday, October 6 at 10 a.m. is designed to provide real solutions for real life issues. Area experts who possess a deep understanding of child development will provide clear, concise advice on common stress points for parents. This event is hosted by Hanna Perkins for Child Development and The Lippman School.

Here are some of the objectives for the event:

-Discussing discipline principles

-Identifying separation concerns

-Recognizing sleeping issues

-Explaining eating challenges

-Discussing learning topics

-Summarizing self-control topics

-Identifying a healthy relationship with technology

-Discussing cyberbullying

You ask the questions. You choose the topics. Do you think you are the only parent who has a child who: has temper tantrums, not sleeping, not listening, not eating, bossing, whining, mean, not learning, won’t separate, has no friends, acts poorly in restaurant, doesn’t do thier homework, has fears? Do you have technology concerns or issues with cyberbullying?
What are the questions you would like to ask a professional?

Parents can participate, live chat or listen to an open discussion between the parents and the experts.
