Youth camps provide opportunities for students to keep their learning skills sharp during the summer months.  Cuyahoga County Public Library is offering a variety of free summer camps for students in grades K-12. Registration is required to attend, see below for camp details.

GIRL POWER CAMP
AGES 12-14
This unique camp provides girls with the opportunity to connect with an adult mentor to develop critical financial skills, explore colleges and prepare for success after high school.

INNOVATION & IMAGINATION CAMP
AGES 11-18
This exciting camp, led by Progressive Arts Alliance, fuses art, design, science and math in a week filled with experimentation and imagination. Using inspiration from famed artist Rube Goldberg’s machines, design and create your very own chain reaction sculpture using different types of energy, motion and force as you work to bridge the physical and virtual worlds in your chain reaction using Scratch programming language. Use various materials, including found objects, wood and the LEGO® WeDo™, as you fabricate unique sculptural machines.

TEEN WRITER BOOTCAMP
AGES 13-18
This boot camp for aspiring young authors led by Neal Chandler will review the fundamentals of creative writing and guide you in creating new work in poetry, fiction and drama. Please bring along an example of your best writing. All Teen Writer Bootcamps are held from 1 – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 1 – 5 p.m.
