Starting Memorial Day weekend the Zoo has expanded summer hours, the return of Professor Wylde’s Live Animal Show, and the debut of KidsDays, a brand new special event to celebrate the start of summer.
The Zoo introduces KidsDays on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24 – a world of kid-friendly fun in one destination including special animal enrichment demonstrations, Meet the Keeper programs, costumed characters, crafts, kids-only games, the chance to march in special kids parades and Touch-A-Truck encounters with some of the Zoo’s heavy equipment.
On Saturday the 23rd as part of KidsDays, the Zoo will help WVIZ-TV Channel 25 celebrate its 50th anniversary and give kids the chance to meet many of their favorite PBS characters including Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Peg & Cat, WordGirl and Super Why.
Sunday the 24th will feature Radio Disney DJ and singer Alex Angelo performing on the Zoo’s Welcome Plaza at 2 p.m.
Professor Wylde’s Live Animal Show returns to the Zoo’s Savanna Theater on Saturday, May 23. Performances run three times daily, 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., through September 7.
The show engages audiences of all ages with humor and an all-star cast of critters. The professor encounters pirates during a visit to Africa and learns about the importance of water for all living things along the way. The show is free with regular Zoo admission.
Saturday, May 23 also marks the beginning of the Zoo’s extended summer hours. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the Zoo stays open until 7 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays giving guests extra time to make family memories and experience everything the Zoo has to offer.
Northeast Ohio’s most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $13.25 per person, $12.25 for seniors ages 62 and older, $9.25 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free.
