Dick Bennett, Executive Director and CEO of the Lake County Y says, “Because we serve about 1 in 4 children, families and seniors in Lake County, proceeds from the Dream House improve our ability to provide everyone, regardless of age, income and background with opportunities to be healthy, confident and connected. The project enables us to annually plan enhancements to important programs at every branch and the more than 46,000 members and program participants we serve. Every person invested in the Dream House knows how we strengthen our community by bringing about meaningful change through resources that enrich lives.”
The Lake County Y 2015 Dream House is a 2,600 square foot colonial style home with an additional 1,100 square foot of finished living space in the lower level. The house features a master bedroom and bath with an additional three bedrooms, four bathrooms, great room, sunroom, breakfast nook and kitchen all beautifully furnished and decorated by a team of designers. There will also be a three-car garage and an outstanding outdoor patio with custom designed landscaping.
Karen Krauss and Kate Weaver, Design Co-coordinators for the Lake County Y 2015 Dream House, described it as “A blend of style. This year we encouraged the designers to use a bit more of their own personalities with guidelines that keep the home family friendly and expressive. We chose a wide range of brighter accent colors for the rooms and less patterns by mixing media, using untraditional touches. People sometimes think all the light fixtures should match in every room, but it doesn’t have to, that’s what gives this house a happy and distinctive style.”
“As the Dream House defines Our Cause – Strengthening Community, it brings people together to share their passions and enrich the lives of others. From planning and construction to managing daily tours, hundreds of volunteers give their time and talents to ensure we provide everyone with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive,” said Scott Taylor, Lake County YMCA Chief Advancement Officer.
“Quality programs provided to children and families by the Lake County Y would not be possible without the support of the community, sponsors and our business partners for the Dream House. A huge Thank You to our major sponsors for 2015 including Enzoco Homes, The Chevy Network/Classic Chevrolet, WKYC-TV3, and Sommerset Companies,” added Bob Hoffman, Lake County Y Dream House Project Manager.
