Adoption2More children each year are in need of a forever home.

In fact, more than 100,000 children and youth in the U.S. foster care system are awaiting permanent families, according to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

National Adoption Awareness Month is held in November to bring attention to the need for adoption of children and youth in foster care.

In honor of this year’s Adoption Month, Northeast Ohio Parent magazine has collected resources for those interested in adopting, and is celebrating local families who have adopted children. Here are some of the highlights:
