On the latest episode of aParently Speaking, host Miriam Conner is joined by licensed professional counselor, founder of Relational Counseling and Consulting Services, and author of “The Paradox of Perfection,” Jeffrey S. Reber, PhD, to discuss “perfectionism parenting.”
Reber talks about the pressure on today’s kids and parents and the role social media plays. He and Conner discuss the pressure that moms, in particular, put on themselves and the pressure parents put on their kids to be perfect.
Why is there so much pressure and why do some moms feel the need to compete with one another? These are just some of the things Reber shares. Listen to learn about the effects that perfectionism parenting has on your kids, signs that you are a perfectionist parent, and what you can do about it.
