Weathervane Playhouse Announces 2016-17 Season

Weathervane Playhouse announced its 82nd season, on April 6, 2016.  Weathervane’s subscribers, volunteers and staff gathered for an opportunity to learn the titles of all of the 16-17 season plays and hear from many of the directors about each of the shows.

“Whether you come to us as an artist, or audience member, our 82nd season has something that was intended just for you,” says Artistic Director Melanie Pepe.  “We are proud to announce a subscription season featuring six plays, six musicals and a theatre festival of 10 minute plays. The plays include comedy, romance, passion and provocative topics right alongside cheesy sci-fi and a jaded Christmas elf. This is a season you don’t want to miss.”

Weathervane Playhouse provides  live theater with volunteer artists, designers, and technicians under professional direction, delivers education and training in theater arts and appreciation.

Titles include: Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, July 29 – August 14; You Can’t Take it With You, August 25 – September 11; Little Shop of Horrors, September 29 – October 16, 2016; Red, October 27 – November 12, 2016; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, November 22 – December 18; The Santaland Diaries, December 1 – December 17, 2016; A Kid Like Jake, January 12 – January 22, 2017; I Love You Because, February 2 – February 18 2017; To Kill a Mockingbird, February 23 – March 12, 2017; Jesus Christ Superstar, March 30 – April 23, 2017, The Flick, May 4 – 14, 2017; Hairspray, June 8 – July 2, 2017; 8 X 10 Theatrefest, July 13 – July 16, 2017.

“This is a season of plays and musicals that invite everyone to work, play, and share their time with us!” shared Pepe.
