During the first year of life, babies generally don’t need water. In fact, giving infants water can be dangerous because they can easily suffer from water intoxication, a condition in which their developing kidneys can’t excrete water fast enough. Here are some ways to avoid water intoxication.

Patrons now have a way to pick up their books, videos and more without even leaving their car. Put items on hold — either by calling the library or using the library's website — and specify that you want to pick them up at the drive-thru. It will open each day at the same time as the Main Branch.

Last weekend, my family traveled back in time and spent a day in 13th Century England at The Great Lakes Medieval Faire & Marketplace. Though our family is on the younger side, there was still plenty to do.
