Cleveland Monsters Plan Summer Street Hockey Series

The Cleveland Monsters will be taking hockey to the streets this summer with the Monsters’ 2019 Grow the Game Street Hockey Series, featuring five street hockey events this summer in Northeast Ohio. The Monsters Street Hockey Series will be offered at four of the Monsters 2019 Certified Learn to Play Program rinks and culminating at Nautica Entertainment Complex in the Flats on Saturday, July 27.

For just a $5 donation to the Monsters Community Fund, area children ages 5-14, regardless of hockey experience, will receive USA Hockey-certified instruction in the fundamentals of stick-handling, shooting, and passing from Monsters staff and local youth hockey coaches, a Monsters Grow the Game T-Shirt, and a complimentary ticket to a 2019-20 Monsters game by participating in the team’s summer street hockey clinics. (Street hockey sticks will be provided for the event, no outside hockey sticks allowed.)

The dates and locations for each even are as follows:

  • Saturday, June 1: Center Ice Sports Complex (Akron/Canton)
  • Saturday, June 15: Mentor Civic Ice Arena (Mentor)
  • Saturday, June 29: Kent State Ice Arena (Kent)
