For one special day each summer, the gates open wide at Lake Metroparks Farmpark for FarmFest, a full day of immersive farm experiences, family-friendly fun and free admission for all.
On Saturday, July 11, guests can explore the Farmpark in full swing. Meet friendly animals up close while discovering how food, fiber and farming are part of everyday life through interactive programs and live experiences.
Special guests, local groups and returning favorites will be on site throughout the day, sharing their skills and inviting visitors to learn by doing. This includes the clubs that call Farmpark home, from antique engine enthusiasts to spinning and weaving artisans and beekeeping groups.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of food trucks, along with live cooking demonstrations from local chef Lisa Pucci Delgado and a breadmaking presentation by Reveille Bakery. Guests can also pick up practical skills throughout the day, from gardening in a small space to backyard flock basics with Meyer Hatchery. Watch wool become yarn with Raven Hooves Farm, with even more to explore across the grounds.
“FarmFest is one of our biggest days of the year and the only day guests can experience the Farmpark with free admission,” said Farmpark Event Manager Andy McGovern. “There is something happening everywhere you turn, with plenty to see, do and experience throughout the day. It’s a fun, welcoming way for people of all ages to experience the farm and try something new.”
