Veterans Day Crafts for Kids

Veterans Day Crafts for Kids

On November 11, we celebrate U.S. armed services veterans — both living and past members — for their service to our county. Help your kids celebrate relatives, friends and others by creating keepsakes.

Create poppies by using coffee filters, egg cartons or cupcake liners. Paint red and help them cut out petals, then paint black in the center.

Paint rocks with thank you messages. There are many craft stores that sell flat rocks, or find some in your backyard. Use paint or paint markers to color your rocks.

Create handprints or make your own thank you cards. Use cardstock to create thank you notes for veterans in your life or drop them off at your local American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars post, or VA hospital.

For close relatives, don’t forget to ask them about their time in the service and let them share their stories.
