Great Lakes Science Center Marks Passing of John Glenn with Memorial Exhibit

The Great Lakes Science Center, home of the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, has partnered with the NASA Glenn Research Center to establish a temporary memorial for Senator John Glenn, who passed away today at age 95. Members of the public wishing to leave expressions of sympathy may do so beginning Friday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The memorial exhibit will be in place through Sunday, Dec. 18. (Please note the science center will be closed Sunday, Dec. 11 and Monday, Dec. 12.) The Glenn memorial will be placed in the Wintergarden atrium of the Science Center, which is a publicly accessible space that does not require admission. The Science Center is located at 601 Erieside Ave., at North Coast Harbor.

“Senator Glenn’s legacy will continue to shape the lives of those that visit the Science Center, experience the exhibits in the NASA Glenn Visitor Center and participate in our science education programs,” according to a statement released by the Great Lakes Science Center.
