Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity has launched an innovative new program, dubbed Playhouse Project, through which local businesses can donate time and resources to a worthwhile cause and area families can receive a playhouse their children can enjoy.
“Playing house,” the Habitat says, is frequently the first time children consider and display what “home” means to them, making these playhouses a critical piece of their childhoods. Through the program, the Habitat offers companies, organizations and other groups the opportunity to engage employees in a collaborative, hands-on project that promotes teamwork, creativity and community spirit. Teams will design, build and decorate playhouses that then are donated to area families.
Cleveland Clinic has sponsored the build of the first three playhouses, with the first one being constructed July 21 at ReStore in Eastlake (34071 Vine St.). Each team receives all necessary materials, tools, and guidance from Habitat for Humanity experts to ensure a successful and rewarding experience.

“We are thrilled to introduce Playhouse Project as a way for businesses to strengthen their teams while giving back to the community,” said Michael Barb, Executive Director at Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity.” This program not only fosters a sense of unity and accomplishment among participants but also brings joy and inspiration to local children.”
