The Ohio PTA and National PTA are promoting a way for parents to take charge of their child’s learning in school. BeALearningHero.org provides important education tools and information for parents.

The user-friendly site is updated throughout the year. Parents can click through for specific grade requirements and information. They can also read about changes in the classroom, including the state’s academic standards and tests.

Parent can use the helpful learning tools to help support their children’s educational needs.

“There are different types of resources for parents (and kids) who can watch a video, download a worksheet (etc.),”Ohio PTA President Shelia Ragland says.

Parents can also use the “Super 5” tips to help children succeed in school.

“The Super 5 is a roadmap to where you can go with your child,” Ragland says. “This is where your child is now and this is where they can be.”

The content from education leaders was created or assembled by partner organizations like the National PTA, Common Sense Media, Great Schools and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. It features materials from multiple organizations including IXL, LearnZillion, Teaching Channel, Khan Academy and other leading providers.

“Parents (can) become engaged in their child’s education, which truly makes a difference,” Ragland says.
