The annual Rabbit Run 5K Run, Walk & Kids Fun Run at Rabbit Run Theater (5648 Chapel Rd in Madison) will be held on Sunday, October 25 at 9:15am. The Rabbit Run 5K benefits both the Rabbit Run Community Arts Association and the Lake County YMCA East End branch.
The run/walk is open to all ages with a special Kids Fun Run for younger children on the grounds of the theater. In keeping with the Halloween spirit, participants may dress in their favorite costume. The course for the event begins and ends at Rabbit Run Theater and extends to the surrounding neighborhood. For a more accurate run time chip timing is provided by Great Cleveland XC.
To help more people benefit from the Lake County Y, proceeds from the 5K race will support membership and program scholarships to allow everyone in our community to achieve greater health, nurture youth development and inspire individuals regardless of age, race and income.
Proceeds will also support Rabbit Run Community Arts Association. RRCAA, located in Madison, is a non-profit comprehensive fine arts association offering year-round instruction in all the major disciplines of the fine and performing arts. Rabbit Run Theater, one of Ohio’s few remaining barn theaters, also operates under the auspices of RRCAA.
Awards will be presented to the Rabbit Run 5K Top 3 overall Male & Female and 5K Top 3 finishers in each group Male & Female. Age groups are defined as: 11 & under, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over. Halloween costumes encouraged.
Registration Fee is $10 for youth 14 and under/$25 for runners age 15 and up – Kids run Free. Pre-registration Deadline 5pm Friday, October 23. Race Day FEE $15 for youth 14 and under/$25 for runners age 15 and over. Entry Fee inlcudes t-shirt (for first 150), water stops, light snack/refreshments.
Race day registration begins at 8am. Packet pick-up and registration closes at 9am and race begins at 9:15am.
