You’ve made it through the holidays, you’ve taken care of everyone on your list. You’ve run around, you’ve shopped, you’ve cooked and now you are ready for a break. It’s a new year and time to think about a new adventure; time to disconnect from the world and reconnect with your family. It’s time to build new memories and experiences.

Travel is a great way to build lifelong memories and create new experiences for your family, and there is no better time to plan a trip. When it’s cold outside, we snuggle up in chilly Northeast Ohio and think about where we want to go. Whether you are looking for spring break or summer vacation, it’s not too early to start planning. I think Orlando, Fla., just has so much to offer families.

  • Walt Disney World offers four theme parks, two water parks and Disney Springs, a shopping, restaurant and entertainment district. Disney Resorts offers lots of different cost options at its more than 25 hotels and regularly runs special promotions throughout the year. All hotels provide free transportation to anywhere on Disney property. Coming late fall to Walt Disney World is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This will be a 14-acre, fully immersive experience for any Star Wars superfan.

  • Universal Studios has two theme parks and one water park with several hotels that also provide free transportation to its parks. Plus, there is Universal’s City Walk for food, shopping and fun. Universal Studios also offers two unique experiences for Harry Potter fans, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade is located inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure park; Diagon Alley is in Universal Studios. Get a Park to Park ticket to visit both and experience the Hogwarts Express.

  • Sea World is a completely reimagined park that focuses on family education about wildlife and many exciting rides. Plus, Sea World has Aquatica and Discovery Cove as optional add-ons to make a wonderful vacation.

  • Legoland, just a short drive from Orlando, offers fun for young ones, with a hotel right on property that offers a complimentary breakfast buffet. Maybe you are looking for a beach location. Florida still has great options. There are two airlines that offer cheap flights into Orlando and Tampa from Cleveland. Fly into Tampa for a stay on the gulf side of Florida, in the beautiful St. Pete Beach area for soft sands and stunning blue waters
