This fall, Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) is expanding its after-school homework help services to 12 additional branch locations through its new Homework Mentors program.
Trained mentors will be available to provide students in kindergarten through 8th grade with homework assistance for 2 hours after school, Monday through Thursday (no appointment is necessary). Students in need of extra assistance with their homework may bring their assignments to the library, where they will connect with a trained mentor.
Since 2002, its Homework Centers program, currently offered at 10 CCPL branch locations, has helped thousands of students in kindergarten through 8th grade improve their grades and subject comprehension. The program, which takes place after school Monday through Thursday in late September through mid-May, offers students help from trained tutors in language arts, math, reading, science and social studies.
The Homework Centers and Homework Mentors programs are made possible through support from the Cleveland Foundation.
