Here are our suggestions for activities to keep your crew busy every weekend this month — and even beyond.
September 30:
Your kids can try their navigation skills while making their way through the three acre corn maze that crops up every year at Szalay’s Farm & Market in Peninsula. Entrance to the maze costs $6. Once you’ve mastered the maze, it’s time to eat! On weekends, they’re serving up grilled sandwiches and sundaes topped with fresh-cut fruit. But the real draw is the corn. They use just-picked ears from the fields and then roast them.
Tucked into the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, it’s easy to jump on the Towpath to either hike or bike after you’re done at Szalay’s. My family, though, likes to get off the beaten path and head to Virginia Kendall Ledges Hiking Trail – it’s one of the few spots within the park that’s perched above the trees so that you can see the valley stretching beyond.
