Looking to introduce your children to helping others? Animal shelters, rescues and other organizations are in need, whether it’s to adopt from their facilities, lend a hand or drop off food or supply donations. It’s a great summer family project. Kids can pitch in by raising funds through a lemonade stand (see how on pg. 10) or doing chores around the house. Put on a neighborhood yard sale in which some of the sales go directly to support the cause. If you donate supplies, have the kids go shopping with you and let them pick out the needed items.
