7 Family-Friendly Sledding Hills in Northeast Ohio

We’ve already helped you get the right gear and safely bundle up the kiddos for a day of sledding. Now it’s time for the next step: finding a family-friendly hill! The following are just a few of the many recommended hills in the greater Cleveland and Akron areas.

Beartown Lakes Reservation, Auburn Township:
For newbie sledders, this hill is a good start.

Cain Park Sledding Hill, Cleveland Heights:
Look for the hill at the crossroads of Taylor and Superior Roads.

Cascade Valley Metro Park, Akron:
Located in the Oxbow Area, this sledding hill is a favorite in Summit Metro Parks.

Hawthorn Parkway/Solon Road, Solon:
Expect a steep grade on this hill. Leave your car at the Shadow Lake Picnic Area.

Westlake Recreation Center, Westlake:
Just east of the main entrance to the rec center, you’ll see this sizable hill that’s a sledding haven; make sure to watch your kiddos closely since the road is at the bottom.

Chapin Forest Reservation, Kirtland:
The small hill provides an opportunity for younger children to practice their sled riding skills. Located off Hobart Road entrance to park.

Carlisle Reservation, LaGrange:
A small ride for everyone, then come and warm up in the visitor’s center. Equestrian Center, 13630 Diagonal Road.
