Ohio-made gitft ideas

‘Tis the season to be shopping! And as you’re checking off your holiday gift-giving list, I have some great Northeast Ohio-themed suggestions for everyone from your parents to your spouse to your kids:

For the Explorer:

Nothing is better than giving the gift of experience. So, for those in your life who love to explore Northeast Ohio, think about giving the gift of membership to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum of Cleveland, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Akron Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, Greater Cleveland Aquarium, Lake Metroparks Farmpark, or Cleveland Orchestra.

These places offer fun for the entire family and create a whole year of excitement.

For the Sports Fan:

Play a fun and addictive trivia game: You Gotta Know Cleveland Sports. With 500 questions and various ways to play, everyone will have fun testing their knowledge of Cleveland sports history.

For the Reader:

Cleveland-themed books make great reads, as well as great coffee table conversation pieces. Check out all the options from Gray & Company Publishers, such as “A Touch of Cleveland History,” “Our Tribe,” “Cleveland Radio Tales,” and more.

For the Bartender:

Pick up some delicious, locally-made drink mixes and syrups from Pope’s Kitchen. Grab a bottle of wine from CLE Urban Winery, Ferrante Winery, or Gervasi Vineyard. And then throw in a six-pack from Great Lakes Brewing Co., Market Garden Brewery, or Thirsty Dog Brewing Co.

Add in Cleveland-themed glasses from Blastmaster 62 and you have the perfect gift!

For the Fashion Plate:

There are tons of places making great Cleveland and Ohio-themed apparel for the whole family. Some of my favorites are CLE Clothing Co., GV Artwork, and Plum City Designs (their onesies are so cute)!

For the Foodie:

You could always grab a gift card to one of the area’s amazing restaurants, which is sure to delight the foodie in your life. But you can also create a hands-on experience for even the youngest foodie. Check out cooking classes at Young Chefs Academy or Loretta Paganini School of Cooking (check out their kids’ classes here).

For the One-Stop Shopper:

Cleveland in a Box and Give Gifted both create unique gift compilations using some of the coolest local makers. Pick your theme or items and watch the magic come together all in one package.

Hopefully these give you some great jumping off points to not only delight those on your list, but also shop small and local! Happy shopping!
