Experience ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in 70mm in the OMNIMAX Theater at Great Lakes Science Center

The Science Center's OMNIMAX Theater will hold the screening and will not include any previews or trailers for coming attractions. The theater is one of fewer than 20 worldwide showing the movie on 70mm film. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, and will be available at the Science Center box office.

Free Young Author Workshop Begins This Saturday

Kids ages 7 to 12 will create books during a workshop led by Akron artist Dan Cuthbert at Summit Artspace. The workshop is 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 20, March 19 and April 16. Participants in small groups will write and illustrate a book and learn about the bookmaking process.

Save the Date: Spring Registration for ‘Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio’ Program

Registration for the spring season opens Feb. 24. The program serves girls in third grade through eighth grade in Summit, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Portage and Medina counties. It uses fun, experience-based curriculum that integrates confidence-building, community service and physical activities.
